    James was introduced to cooking while helping with his family’s meals. Standing on a chair in the kitchen, crying over yellow onions, trying to cook ground beef, boil spaghetti noodles, and heating pasta sauce, he never thought he would make a career in food. Fast forward 15 years and James realized he was great at making sure his guests have memorable experiences. Since then he has continued to grow and develop his passion for the food service industry. He is excited to work for Bon Appétit at Adobe both companies that share his beliefs about food and the planet.

    Diane Ortiz has been with Bon Appetit for almost 10 years, working at various accounts in the Bay Area. She attended San Jose State University and received a BA in Hospitality Management. She started her journey in Hospitality at a young age helping with various fundraisers and festivals for the Portuguese Community in Santa Clara. She enjoys making people happy through food. Her favorite part of the business is working with amazing chefs, managers, and employees. I love being able to work with and train employees and then see them further their careers!

    David is a classically trained chef with a rustic-refined style and a passion for sustainability. A gardener himself, David’s commitment to responsible, farm-to-table sourcing developed during his years working in restaurants in Napa Valley, where he was strongly influenced by the cuisine of iconic Chef Thomas Keller. In addition, David’s fascination with recipe history and origins drives his globally influenced culinary approach. He has lived in Japan and Okinawa and traveled extensively throughout the Asian continent, developing a passion for and expertise in the cuisines of the region that informs his menu development for temPLATES.

    Executive Chef

    Brian West started cooking at a young age and quickly learned that his future was in the kitchen. After high school, Brian attended the California Culinary Academy (CCA), in San Francisco. At 18 years old, Brian graduated from The CCA and dove straight into his career. Since then, he has cooked in some of the best restaurants in California, spending most of his time in San Francisco, San Diego, and Napa Valley. Since working for Bon Appétit, Brian has married his creativity for dishes with local sustainable ingredients.

    Christina brings more than 10 years of corporate restaurant experience to her role as manager of temPLATES Café, including most recently two years as a manager for P.F. Chang’s. Attracted by Bon Appetit’s innovative and team-oriented culture, she is thrilled to join the temPLATES team at Adobe San Jose. Her passion for delivering the best guest experience and helping people connect over food makes her a natural hospitality professional and an ideal ambassador of Adobe’s food culture at temPLATES.

    Pastry Chef

    Leanne’s life-long love for baking has led her to a celebrated career as a pastry chef. After working for seven years in the pastry department of Marriott Hotels and in several restaurants in Silicon Valley, Leanne founded her own award-winning catering company, Savory & Sweet, which focused on baking and wedding cakes. She has medaled in international cake and wedding cake competitions, appeared on the Food Network and TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off, and been recognized as a leader in environmental stewardship. She brings a passion for breads and pastries to her role as Pastry Chef at Adobe San Jose.

    Director of Catering

    Ashlee has had a love for events since first attending San Jose State. While in college, she started her own event management company, planning weddings and corporate events. Finding she had the skills and passion for catering, she launched into the hospitality world, working as the Senior Catering and Sales Manager at Rosewood, Cordevalle in San Martin. She is excited to plan and work with you to create memorable events and experiences here at Adobe. In her free time, Ashlee cheers on the Bay Area sports teams and leads spin classes.

    Cafe Manager, Layers

    Cody was born and raised in the Bay Area. His passion for culinary excellence and customer satisfaction stemmed from his exposure to the area’s diverse food culture. Cody has been working in the hospitality industry for 10 years, dating back to his high school years at the Academy of Travel & Tourism where he was able to travel the world and gain valuable food experiences. His excellent guest relations and knowledge of food and wine make him a great fit here at Adobe and in Layers Café.
